Goodbye ...

It is a hard decision to be made. But I've already made up my mind on it.

I've finally decided to stop blogging, due to some personal reasons, and this entry should be my last entry.

Thank you for patronizing!

Boring team building ...

Tuesday, November 28, 2006
We had a team building @ Cornerstone yesterday. But it was a super boring one because firstly - there isn't full participation from the entire team, and secondly - we had an outsider who joined us.

Colleague PS wasn't around because he needs to accompany his wife who will be delivering at any point of time. Colleague KW wasn't around because she is down with some sickness. The team building become even more boring because my boss brought his gf along to join us. For the entire night, we had to watch our mouth and conversation, because we do not want to risk getting our lovely boss into trouble. Imagine having to control ourselves even after office working hours. This sux!

Our boring team building.

We will be having an end-user security seminar this coming Friday, and we're planning to have another round of team building session after the event. I am praying hard now for the coming team building on Friday to be a joyous and fun one.

Nuisance ...

Monday, November 27, 2006
I think there are lots of humans out there in Friendster who is way too free. Sometimes, I can't help but to wonder, can't they find something more meaningful to do during their spare time? I seemed to be crappy messages like the one below all the time ... Ergh !!

Mini reunion ...

Didn't do much during the weekend. Friend HJ and Friend L from KL were in town, so, we met up for some short and sweet catching up session.

We started our Friday night with some red wine at Cornerstone, followed by a short clubbing session at the new St. James Club. After St. James, our driver for the day - Friend JT brought us around Geylang to check out on the quality of prostitutes in Spore before we end our night with a yummylicious supper - Frog Porridge, Friend Oyster and also Beef Horfun.

We wanted to check out the well-known Yangtze Cinema which is famous for the screening of RA movies with very cheesy names. I've heard of funny stories about uncles wanking in the cinema, uncles bringing umbrellas to the cinemas to shield themselves, uncles climaxed and moan, etc. So, when I told both Friend L and also Friend HJ about it, all of us got excited - not for the movie, but for the actual scene in such cinemas. So, we're all on for it, but unfortunately, they do not operate on 24 hours basis. =(

Here are some of the pictures taken on Friday night ...

Friend L, Friend HJ and myself chilling out at Cornerstone. We had a bottle of sparking apple juice and also a bottle of red wine.

Friendship of 13 years old! I got to know Friend HJ since 12 years old, and it's such a miracle that we still keep in touch till now. =)

Us clubbing at St. James Power Station!

Our driver for the night - Friend JT and I.

Something sweet ...

Friday, November 24, 2006
Colleague CY is currently on a one-week-study leave. But we still keep each other updated on what's happening via msn and also sms. I did update Colleague CY a little about me falling sick. Colleague EW started making a big hoo haa about me falling sick and my ugly voice, so, somehow Colleague CY concluded that my sore throat is indeed a very bad one.

The moment I logged onto MSN when I stepped into office today, Colleague CY sent me a MSN message, saying that there's a surprise inside the fridge waiting for me. Only god knows when did Colleague CY stepped into the office to keep the surprise inside the fridge because no one in the office seems to know about it.

Tadaa ... my surprise from Colleague CY. A jar of Manuka Honey. The ugly wrapping skill pretty much explained that it is handwrapped by Colleague CY. Don't underestimate this jar of honey ok. I got a shock of my life when I found out that this jar of Manuka Honey costs SGD 60. Freakin expensive!! Colleague EW is super jealous now because he is sick, and he doesn't get any jar of honey from anyone. LOL ...

Lunch was at Sakae Sushi with Friend KC. As usual, I didn't really enjoy my meal because friends who know me knows that I do not really know how to appreciate Japanese food. But we took some lovely shots. =)

Friend KC and myself. All the waitresses at Sakae Sushi are too busy to help us to take a picture, so, we got no choice but to self-service to get it done. End result, so far so good ...

I'm off to bed now. Can't wait to meet up with a good old friend, HJ from KL tomorrow. I'll upload more pictures again soon ...

Feeling sick ...

Wednesday, November 22, 2006
Not much of updates for the past few days. I was feeling sick since last Saturday (after the party), and I am still feeling sick now. =(

Initially I was only down with some loss of my voice and sore throat. Then I started having some very minor flu. And now, I felt a little chilly at home, without the air-cond. I think I am feeling a little feverish now.

The medicines that the doctor prescribed to me made me feel weak the entire day, and I lost my appetite to eat.

I hate to fall sick! Ergh...

Something meaningful ...

Sunday, November 19, 2006
Learnt something very meaningful from an old friend - JL (who has just only found her true love), and here are some meaningful stuffs to share. =)

“Infatuation, crushes and attraction come to us by chance, but true love that lasts is truly a choice. A choice that we make”.

“Fate brings you together, but it’s still up to u to make it happen. Soul mates do exist, that there is truly someone made for you. But it’s still up to you to make the choice, if you’re going to do something about it”.

“We may meet our soul mates by chance, but loving and staying with them is still a choice we have to make. We came to the world not by finding someone perfect to love, BUT to learn how to love and imperfect person perfectly.”

This is weird. Why am I feeling so sentimental out of a sudden?

Birthday celebration - Part V

Saturday, November 18, 2006
It was a crazy night. We had seafood dinner at No Signboard Restaurant in Geylang, and next, we proceeded to Double O for clubbing.

I'm still very tired, from the amount of alcohol that I drowned myself in last night. So, I shall not elaborate in detail on the happenings. Below are some pictures taken ...

Myself & Friend JT. He was supposed to be one of my heros for the night, but he was also one of the culprits who teamed up with Friend RY to attack me with some tequila shots. Hmph, I'll remember this, and take my revenge when the time comes.

My marketing colleague, PC and Myself. She purposely showed up for a short while to wish me Happy Birthday, and at the same time, to introduce me to her "Waterfish". =)

Birthday Gal making her birthday wish. Friend LS called me early in the morning, all the way from KL to remind me to make a wish to help me find a rich and generous bf. And yeah, that is my wish for this year. ;)

All the early birds who get to enjoy a slice of my lovely cake.

The birthday gal and also the birthday-boy-to-be, KC. We were running around, hiding ourselves at the corners in Double O, to try to escape from all the crazy drinking sessions. But our mission failed. No matter where we hide, they are still able to track us down.

I got injected with Vodka Ribena (appetizer for the night) the moment I stepped into the dancing floor area, thanks to Friend MT.

Friend MT and Myself. Friend MT was the organizer of the night. Overall, it was a wonderful night, with lots of foods, drinks, and most importantly - lovely homosapiens. Anyone notice the bottled drinks in the picture? Those are the killer drinks. It tastes like vodka ribena, but very very very sweet and gassy. Yucks! I hate gassy drinks.

My colleague, LT and also Myself. Colleague LT is also another culprit who tried several attempts in trying to get me drunk. I'll also record this down in my 555 notebook.

Friend RY and Myself. He was supposed to be my hero for the night, but not only did he teamed up with Friend JT to make me drink those awful drinks, he also puked on my jeans!!

Myself with my lovely sister, Friend LL. She came to join us with only one mission in mind - to make sure that she can take care of me incase I really get drunk. She also did a very good job in sneaking me out of Double O for a quick supper in between, because my stomach is already growling for food.

Friend LL, Myself, and also Friend ST. Remember earlier on, I was saying that Friend LL sneaked me out for a quick supper? The funny thing is, she sneaked me out without $$$ and handphone. I also do not have $$$ with me, but lucky thing, I have my handphone with me. Friend ST came into rescue because he is the only one having $$$ in his pocket, so, we sneaked him out of Double O as well. Friend ST and Myself, we both gobbled 2 plates of California Maki Rolls in just a matter of 10 minutes. This shows how hungry we are. =)

Friend CN and Myself. The main culprit for the night. He knows that I can't drink, yet he still ordered a Flaming Lamborghini for me. I'll remember him for this, and will definitely take revenge of him when his birthday comes. Hmph ...

Myself with Friend ST and also his friend. Can't remember his name, but I clearly remembered that he made me drink several tequila shots the moment I was being introduced to him. And not long after that, he challenged me to finish a jug of whisky dry together with him. Crazy fella.

Everyone's attempt in trying to get me drunk failed. I'm still so proud of this. But I did feel a little high and super duper tired on my way home. So tired that I fell asleep in Friend JT's car during that short journey home.

This should mark the last birthday celebration for me for this year, that is if I can escape from Friend AM for another clubbing session tonight. I think I am way too old for clubbing already. I used to love Techno and Trance music, but now, my head start to spin when I hear such music.

Yesterday night will definitely be a memorable night for me. A big THANK YOU to all of you. I'm sure you guys know who you are. =)

Weird looking flowers ...

Friday, November 17, 2006
I was feeling a little gloomy eversince this morning. The actual reason behind this is still unknown. But I suspect that it could be because I am still unable to accept the fact that I'm finally reaching my mid-20s.

My face brightened up instantly during lunch. Wanna know why? Scroll down and you'll know why.

My face brightened up instantly not because of the flowers, but because of the skills of the person who wrapped up this bouquet of flower. I'm pretty amazed by how she designed the entire flower arrangement.

Eventhough I have not gone thru proper flower arrangement lessons, but I believe that I do have some taste when it comes to differentiating between a nice-looking bouquet of flower vs a weird-looking bouquet of flower.

There are 3 stalks of white trumpet lilies hidden behind the roses and wild flowers. Why on earth are the lilies hidden behind? I don't know. In front of the lilies are 12 stalks of roses - 4 stalks of yellow ones, 4 stalks of light pink ones, and 4 stalks of dark pink ones. And there are also 3 types of wild flowers accompanying the lilies and also the roses - yellow ones, purple ones and white ones. Weird color combination huh?

First time in my entire life that I'm seeing such a "unique" bouquet of flower. But I guess I shouldn't complaint much. Rather, I should be feeling thankful because this is probably the only bouquet of flower that I've received for my birthday this year. =)

Security token ...

Just received a small little gift from Maybank as well. Its a Security Token which can generate a random 8 digit One-Time Password (OTP) at the touch of a button. This is to provide an additional layer of protection against possible abuse of online activities. =)

Birthday celebration - Part IV

Thursday, November 16, 2006
Had my 4th birthday celebration with Friend HC and Friend SP today. Both Friend HC and Friend SP were suffering from headaches for the past few days, thinking of where to take me for dinner, as they know that I can be quite picky for food. After doing some brainstorming, they still have not gotten the slightest idea. And so, today, we end up having a mini celebration in TCC @ Bugis.

Didn't order much today. Perhaps I ate too much last night until I do not have much of appetite today. I have been on excessive eating mode since Monday. Sounds scary, doesn't it?

Nothing much to blog about. I'm kinda tired of many mini birthday celebrations in a year already. Perhaps that is a sign of me aging gracefully? LOL ... I don't know ...

Here are some pictures taken tonight ...

Myself & Friend SP, trying to test out the ISO feature from my new camera. =)

My cute little birthday cake, with a unique name - Mont Blanc. Unfortunately, TCC doesn't have any candles, so, I got no candles to blow. But I did made another wish. =)

Friend SP, Friend HC and Myself - Picture taken with flash.

Friend SP, Friend HC and Myself - Picture taken using "Twilight" mode.

The cute little present that Friend HC bought for me. The moment I got the present, I stared at the wrapping gift. I teased Friend HC about the message "I wish that you could know how much I love you", and telling him that his wife might be jealous if she finds out about it. To my surprise, his wife was the one who help him choose that wrapping gift. Weird huh?

I'll be officially 25 tomorrow onwards. Sigh ... Finally reaching my mid-20s...

Birthday celebration - Part III

Had my 3rd Birthday Celebration with Friend KP @ My Secret Garden today (2nd Celebration was yesterday, but I didn't have my camera with me). There were four of us in total - Friend KP, Friend TK, Friend LL and also myself. Initially, we wanted to go for sky dining, but they do not allow last minute reservation. And so, we end up @ My Secret Garden.

We were being treated like VIPs @ My Secret Garden. First, we drama-ed over some trivial issues on the quality of the Lobster Bisque being served to us. Secondly, we ordered like we have not eaten for ages - 4 Lobster Bisques and 4 Main Courses for all of us, A Dozen of Escargots, 3 different types of mixed food platters (to be shared among us), Tiramisu Cakes, Blueberry Cheese Cakes, Fruit Sparkling Juices for all of us, and a bottle of red wine. How not to be treated like VIPs? =)

The damage? About SGD 400.

If I continue eating like this, I am definitely gonna put on alot of weight this month. Putting on weight is always easy, losing weight is one hell of a difficult task. But who cares, as long as we're all happy ...

Here are some of the pictures taken with my new T10... Enjoy viewing!

My Secret Garden - Outdoor Dining.

My Secret Garden - Indoor Dining.

My Secret Garden - Dining Area for the VIPs.

The 4 sisters.

Both the Birthday Gals.

Tomorrow will be another celebration day for me, with some good old friends. I'm looking forward to it. Will try to take more pictures and will continue and upload them over here.

I'm off to bed. Goodnite!

Birthday celebration - Part I

Tuesday, November 14, 2006
Today marks the first day of my 25th birthday celebration, advanced celebration, that is! Birthday celebration this year seems to be pretty boring, and it doesn't seem to bring any smile to my face, maybe because I am finally reaching my mid 20's.

I had 2 birthday celebrations today. The first was with Friend CL at Vino Vino at Mohd Sultan. We were supposed to have some light finger food and drinks to chill out. In the end, we ordered more than what our stomachs can take, and half of the foods have gone to waste. =( We were together for only 2 hours before I bid farewell for my 2nd session for the night.

2nd session was with Vendor DB and also my fellow colleagues at Mohd Sultan - The Connoisseur Divan. Quite a cozy place for a drinking session. The drinks were good. Service was excellent. Vendor DB complained that he sensed the operations manager of the bar having a crush on me. We were challenging each other with hard liquors and cocktails throughout the night, and it seems that, I always get the sweetest and nicest drinks which doesn't seem to make me drunk. =) This I have to admit, is quite true (at least in my honest opinion).

By the time we're done with our 2nd session, Collleague PC and Colleague EW has already collapsed. Myself, Colleague LT and also Vendor DB are still sober. Looks like we will not be able to wake up early for work tomorrow.

Since the OM for the bar has done a good job, I told him that I'll pay him a visit pretty soon, probably on the coming Friday, but again, this is not confirmed yet. Overall, the OM is quite a sweet guy. He makes sure that everyone gets high tonight, except for me (of course!). =)

Got back only at 4am. I am drop dead tired now. My body is super dehydrated from the amount of alchohol that I consumed earlier. I need some good rest tonite.

Goodnite!

Nightmare ...

Saturday, November 11, 2006
My scary nightmare woke me up from sleep quite early today. One of the scariest and most disgusting nightmares that I've ever had.

I dreamt about me dating this cute looking guy. We were a loving couple and we never fail to bring up the jealousy infront of other dating couples with our mushy talks, lovey dovey actions, etc.

Then we felt that it was time for us to bring the relationship a step further. My cute looking boyfriend confessed. He is actually a girl, but she hid it so well that no one is able to tell. Not even myself despite being his girlfriend for quite sometime.

I felt a little shocked and disgusted after he/she confessed. And then I woke up. Lucky this, this was only a dream. I can't imagine myself spending the rest of my life being a LESBIAN!!

Fruitful day ...

I didn't have my dinner tonite because I do not have any appetite. Reason for my loss of appetite is still unknown. But by 11pm, I was almost starving to death already. Lucky thing, Friend JT suggested that we go for a late night supper. So, we ended up having supper at Hong Kong Tea House @ Katong Village.

The amount of foods that we both ordered are pretty scary. The waiter even commented that the foods are way too much for only the both of us. We somehow proved him wrong. We finished about 90% of the foods that we ordered. I still didn't have the appetite, so I didn't eat much. Friend JT finished most of the foods. =)

The amount of the foods that we ordered. From top left : Tou Miao Vegetable, Friend Mee Hoon with Curry, HK Style Milk Tea, Hot and Spicy soup, Coke with Ginger and Lemon, French Toast, Chicken Wings, Fruit Salad Popiah, Curry Fish Ball, and Carrot Cake.

Another side view of the foods that we ordered.

I also adopted a new pet - an inflatable giant tortoise from Caltex @ Beach Road today. I got help from 3 lovely guys at my house to get this tortoise up. Pity those guys, they were exhausted by the time they are done with my tortoise. =)

My cute giant tortoise. It is so huge that now I have problem finding a place to accommodate the tortoise.

A desperate guy doing something funny to my poor tortoise? Hehe ...

Me riding on my giant tortoise.

Overall, today has been a fruitful day for me - I not only adopted a giant tortoise from Caltex, I also managed to con for a free meal from Friend JT.

Being a female who wears a skirt is always an advantage. =)

My dream room ...

Thursday, November 09, 2006
I have always envisioned myself having a cozy home ever since I started work. Whether or not I find a guy to share that house with me is not an issue. I just have to have my own house by the time I reach 30 years old. That's my dream.

Well, that cozy home doesn't necessarily need to be big, but most importantly, the interior design and the decorations have to make me feel cozy when I step into the house after a tired day at work.

I got too bored working from home today, so, I did some simple surfing, and I came across some very nice designs for my future-master-bedroom-to-be.

If I could only afford a small little condominium in the near future, this will be how my master bedroom should look like, due to space constraints.

This design should also fit nicely into the master bedroom of my small little condo.

If I can afford a slightly bigger terrace house, I will copy the interior design as above. But white color is a definite no no. Looks way too boring for me. Maybe peach color might look better?

This is also another lovely interior design.

I will adopt this design if I can afford either a bungalow or a corner terrace house with a huge master bedroom. But I don't fancy purple color. Perhaps lilac or pink would look nicer to me. =)

I am never a person with a creative or artistic mind. So, if I were to have my own house in the near future, there is a high chance that I might just outsource the tedious job to an interior designer. But then again, for that, there is a high price to pay. I can compromise on a small little car and lesser shopping, but if I were to be able to afford my own home, it definitely has to look cozy and classy. =)

I think I am dreaming way too much. Whether or not I could afford my own house before I reach 30 years old is still a big question mark. Time to get back to reality ...

Hainanese style wedding ...

I had a hilarious chat with Friend TJ earlier. So funny that I almost fell off my chair laughing. We were having a normal chat on the Sony camera that I fell in love with, and our topic suddenly diverted to something else.

Out of sudden, I was curious if TJ is still single, so I asked him whether if he is single or attached. He replied that he is single and asked if I want to date him. Our parents would be elated because we're both hainanese. I told him that it would not be a great idea. I'm the kind of person who wants to win in every debate session, but how am I gonna win in a debate with a lawyer? And who on earth will wanna hire a lawyer who can't even win in a simple debate with his gf? LOL...

So, here are some excerpts from our crappy session. We'll both start to date as a hainanese couple. Being typical hainanese, everytime we go for dinner / lunch, it will have to be hainanese chicken rice. But having chicken rice for every meal is gonna be damn boring. So, we have decided to have only chicken rice for our first dinner / lunch date. Communication in Hainanese is a pre-requisite.

After dating, when time matures, we'll have a Hainanese-Style-Wedding. I'll invite Friend HJ to be my bride's maid as she is also a hainanese. No reason to count Friend HJ out as my bride's maid because she was the one who introduced Friend TJ to me. We'll only invite hainanese guests for our wedding dinner. All those who attended the wedding dinner will have to converse in Hainanese. Emcees will also have to speak in Hainanese. If we could, we will have a stage performance with a singer singing us a Hainanese song.

Next will be the dishes for our wedding night. First dish will be the Hainanese White Chicken. Subsequent dishes could be Hainanese Chicken Chop, Hainanese Mixed Vegetables, Hainanese Kicap Sotong, etc. But we ran out of ideas for Hainanese Dishes. We will consult our parents for more ideas when time comes. And finally, honeymoon will be to Hainan Island in China. Hehe...

Boy, this definitely brightens up my boring day! But NO, I don't think a Hainanese-Style-Wedding will be a good idea. I do not want to be traumatized on my big day! Hehe ...

Uninteresting day ...

Wednesday, November 08, 2006
Today has been a super uninteresting day for me. Slept only at about 3.30am yesterday because I was on the phone for hours with some friends. And I got up as early at 7.00am in the morning today for breakfast with my lovely colleagues - EW and CY.

The egg prata for breakfast was probably the only decent meal that I have eaten for today. After my breakfast, I rushed back to the office for some meetings with some partners - and then it was one whole stretch of meetings (3 meetings in total), one after another, non-stop. All the meetings ended only at about 3.00pm. No lunch breaks, and then I am off to Acer to send my lousy notebook in for a motherboard replacement. They need 3 - 4 days to get me a motherboard replacement, which means that I'll be handicapped for the next few days until Monday. ACER sux big time!!

After ACER, another 2 more meetings. By the time I am done, it is already 6.30pm in the evening. Sounds pathetic rite? I am drop dead tired, tired till I lost my appetite to eat. So, I guess I'll head over to my bed now for a short nap.

I hate it when my boss is not in town. I hate all the auto-forwarded emails. I hate the auto-forwarded calls. I hate to attend to calls from vendors giving me unnecessary pressure when they are unable to contact my boss. I hate to be busy to the extend that I have got no time to even fill my empty stomach!! I hate everything at work today!!!

I better go catch some sleep now. Bye...

T10 vs T50 ??

Tuesday, November 07, 2006
I have finally gotten my hands on both the latest Sony Cybershot cameras - the T10 and also the T50 @ Funan the IT Mall today.

T10 is priced at an affordable price of SGD 599, whereas T50 is priced at a slightly higher price of SGD 799. Technology and Functionality wise, both T10 and T50 are about the same. For the price difference of SGD 200, T50 comes with a 3" touch screen interface, a significantly better battery life, a better flash range and also slightly higher contrast + color saturation.

The only thing that I dislike about the T50 is that, its size is very much thicker and fatter than T10. Also, eventhough the touch screen may sound impressive, but while playing with one unit of T50 today, I personally find it tedious and T50 seemed to require a lot of user interaction. It takes too many touches and clicks to get what I want. And for a perfectionist like me, I can imagine myself going nuts trying to clean the fingerprints on the screen. =)

So far, I have got no other complaints for T10 (The additional features in T50 would cost an additional of SGD 200), except that I would prefer the LCD size of 3" rather than only 2.5". The size of T10 is perfect, and it would fit nicely in my handbag. The combination of the outlook for T10 plus the huge screen of T50 would make it a great camera. Unfortunately, no such option is available in the market. =(

But but but ... The pink color model for T10 has all been sold out. Infact, I was told that the pink color T10 is no longer in production. This is soooo disheartening. =(

If only they have the pink color T10, it will make it very much easier for me to decide. Without having to think twice, I would have chosen the pink camera. But now, since the pink color model is no longer available in the market, I am still deciding, if I should go for a camera which is fat but full of features, or a camera which is super slim and handy but comes with lesser features ...

I'm now in another dilemma. T10 vs T50. Haih, I am always spoilt for choices ...

Pink Color T10

Black Color T50

I'll KIV till I get my pay cheque by end of the month. Any opinions from my fellow blogders who have played with both the models above will be deeply appreciated. So, keep your comments flowing in =)

Supermodel wannabe ...

We are planning to go for a swimming and sun-bathing session, for one of our company team-building sessions. All my female colleagues got super excited when they start to talk about their bikinis collection. Infact, they are now discussing about flaunting their assets and doing a parade around in their bikinis (supermodels wannabe).

It seems that I'm the only one who is not so keen on this idea. Wanna know why? Firstly, I do not own any bikinis. Secondly, I do not want to show to the public on the amount of fats that I have on my body. And lastly, I got no assets to flaunt. =(

Since I am not daring enough to start with bikinis, my colleagues introduced me to something else, known as the tankini. But these tankinis do not come cheap. One suit costs SGD 158.

And guess what? I managed to con Colleague EW into sponsoring me for it. It is always very advantageous to be a female, isn't it? =)

Here are some of the lovely collections that I came across ...

Snowy Bandeau Tankini

Sakura Mizu Tankini

Blue Hues Tankini

Pinky Bear Tankini

Now, I'm in a dilemma with too many options given. Which one should I go for? And most importantly, which one will make me look slimmer? =)

Panic ...

Monday, November 06, 2006
I'm starting to feel a little panicky now. I'll be flying off to Vietnam in about 27 days time, and till date, other than my flight tickets, I have not made any hotel reservation, tour reservation, etc.

Contacted 3 travel agencies from People's Park Complex this morning, and boy, I can only describe all the ticketing officers, from all the 3 different travel agencies, who attended to me using one word. STUPID. When I called, I specifically requested for Vietnam Land Tour only, because dad has already gotten the flight tickets.

When I checked my email by the end of the day, I received 3 quotations. All the quotations come with flight details. It is either that I speak alien language, or the guys who attended to me could not understand simple English. Reading those emails can make me vomit blood.

Thank god, an old primary school friend, LL, who has just only joined the tourism industry has agreed to help me source for a good Vietnam land trip package. So, that kinda help in solving my miseries. =)

Seeing that I'm so tensed today, Colleague EW brightened up my day by telling me a silly joke. Apparently, EW's younger sister is jealous of me. Erm, I think EW's sister is starting to hate me, without knowing me in person. It seems that Colleague EW has been singing praises about me to his sister all the time, and asking his sister to learn my positive points (how to be feminine, how to attract guys, etc). So, while they were having an argument, his sister said to him, "Don't talk to me. Anything, go talk to your Soo Chin". LOL.

So, that's the joke for the day. I'm off to play my online pool now. Adious!

Advanced birthday celebration ...

Saturday, November 04, 2006
A few days ago, my 75 years old grand-aunt called me at my mobile, informing me that she wants to come over to my house during the coming weekend. She insisted that I have to wait for her at home. So, I rejected all invitations for shopping, dinner, lunch, movie, etc.

I got a surprise from my grand-aunt when I saw her. She bought me a little birthday cake from Angie the Choice. My grand-aunt will be going over to KL next week, for about a month, to keep my granny company. So, she has decided to have an advanced celebration with me. =)

My favourite Durian Cake from Angie the Choice. My grand-aunt is so sweet rite? Despite her old age, her memories are still pretty good. I'm sooooo touched! *sob sob*

Since she is so sweet, I have decided to take her out for dinner tonight, before my line-dancing classes. Venue has not been decided. Probably Fish & Co at Tampines. I hate crowds, so, Orchard is a definite no-no. =)

I'm off to enjoy my durian cake now. Adious!

Foods, foods and foods ...

A few days ago, my lady boss made me some very nice orange cheese cake. Today she made some Oreos cheese cake for me.

I was on half day MC today, because of my IBS. Doctor gave me some laxatives, and it did worked on me this morning. I looked a little pale when I stepped into the office. Colleague CY saw me looking so weak, and he immediately serve me with a slice of Oreos cheese cake from the fridge. I cheered up instantly after that. =)

The lovely Oreos cheese cake made by my lady boss.

Today is also Friend RY's birthday, so, we went out for a romantic candle light dinner at Oosters. We didn't order much, because both of us didn't have much of appetite, but we definitely ordered some good quality food and also some nice German beers. Friend RY is too tired due to lack of sleep, and myself, too tired because of the side effect of the laxatives.

The lovely foods that we ordered - half a kg of white wine mussels, and also a giant plate of mixed platter with fries, sausages, croquettes, prawn fritters, etc.

Cheers!

The first picture that we both took didn't look that nice, because we forgotten to turn on the flash lights on the camera. This is a much nicer version, taken by another young, handsome looking waiter. =)

Eventhough we didn't order much, we're still unable to finish up the foods. We didn't want to waste the foods, so, we came up with this idea of playing some silly games. The loser will have to finish up the foods. In the end, we gave up, because our stomach is about to explode already. =S

The leftovers.

We went for moonlight strolling, thinking that this could help in speeding up the digestion of foods. Doesn't help either. So, we end up having hot fruit tea at The Coffee Connoiseur at Boat Quay. Friend JT came over to join us not long after.

We left about 11pm, because Friend RY need to meet up with another group of his friends for a drinking session. I guess he will not be able to escape from being thrashed with liquors tonite. =)

Overall, it was a wonderful night. Friend RY, may all your dreams and wishes come true yah!

Irritable bowel syndrome ...

Thursday, November 02, 2006
A few days ago, I had very severe constipation problem. Last night, I suddenly have this very terrible stomach cramp. I still have the stomach cramp now, but it is now not as bad as last night. Being the smart alec I always would like to be, I somehow concluded that I have a gastric flu. So, I went to my handsome doctor, telling him that I have a gastric flu.

To my surprise, after some diagnostics from my handsome doctor, he said, he suspected that I could be suffering from an Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). He then explained about IBS to me in brief.

When I reached home, the first thing I did was to do some googling on IBS, to ensure myself that IBS will not do any big harm to my health. And here's the result to my searches from

Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS, is a problem that affects mainly the bowel, which is also called the large intestine. The bowel is the part of the digestive system that makes and stores stool. The word syndrome means a group of symptoms. IBS is a syndrome because it can cause several symptoms. For example, IBS causes cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation.

IBS is not a disease. It's a functional disorder, which means that the bowel doesn't work as it should.

With IBS, the nerves and muscles in the bowel are extra-sensitive. For example, the muscles may contract too much when you eat. These contractions can cause cramping and diarrhea during or shortly after a meal. Or the nerves can be overly sensitive to the stretching of the bowel (because of gas, for example). Cramping or pain can result.

IBS can be painful. But it does not damage the bowel or cause any other diseases.

Does stress cause IBS?

Emotional stress will not cause a person to develop IBS. But if you already have IBS, stress can trigger symptoms. In fact, the bowel can overreact to all sorts of things, including food, exercise, and hormones.

Foods that tend to cause symptoms include milk products, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks, and fatty foods. In some cases, simply eating a large meal will trigger symptoms.

Women with IBS often have more symptoms during their menstrual periods.

What are the symptoms of IBS?

The main symptoms of IBS are ...
  • crampy pain in the stomach area (abdomen)
  • painful diarrhea or constipation

Most people have either diarrhea or constipation, but some people have both. Other symptoms are ...

  • mucus in the stool
  • swollen or bloated abdomen
  • the feeling that you have not finished a bowel movement

How is IBS diagnosed?

The doctor will suspect that you have IBS because of your symptoms. But the doctor may do medical tests to make sure you don't have any other diseases that could cause the symptoms.

Medical tests for IBS ...

  • Physical exam
  • Blood tests
  • X ray of the bowel: This x-ray test is called a barium enema or lower GI (gastrointestinal) series. Barium is a thick liquid that makes the bowel show up better on the x ray. Before taking the x ray, the doctor will put barium into your bowel through the anus.
  • Endoscopy: The doctor inserts a thin tube into your bowel. The tube has a camera in it, so the doctor can look at the inside of the bowel to check for problems.

What is the treatment?

IBS has no cure, but you can do things to relieve symptoms. Treatment may involve ...

  • diet changes
  • medicine
  • stress relief

Some foods make IBS worse. Here are some foods that may cause symptoms:

  • fatty foods like french fries
  • milk products like cheese or ice cream
  • chocolate
  • alcohol
  • caffeine (found in coffee and some sodas)
  • carbonated drinks like soda

If certain foods cause symptoms, you should eat less of them or stop eating them.

To find out which foods are a problem, write down this information:

  • what you eat during the day
  • what symptoms you have
  • when symptoms occur
  • what foods always make you feel bad
  • Take your notes to the doctor to see if you should stop eating certain foods.

Some foods make IBS better. Fiber reduces IBS symptoms—especially constipation—because it makes stool soft, bulky, and easier to pass. Fiber is found in bran, bread, cereal, beans, fruit, and vegetables.

Add foods with fiber to your diet a little at a time to let your body get used to them. Too much fiber all at once might cause gas, which can trigger symptoms in a person with IBS.

Besides telling you to eat more foods with fiber, the doctor might also tell you to get more fiber by taking a fiber pill or drinking water mixed with a special high-fiber powder.

How much you eat matters, too. arge meals can cause cramping and diarrhea in people with IBS. If this happens to you, try eating four or five small meals a day. Or, have your usual three meals, but eat less at each meal.

If necessary, the doctor might give you medicine to help with symptoms:

  • laxatives: to treat constipation
  • antispasmodics: to slow contractions in the bowel, which helps with diarrhea and pain
  • antidepressants: to help those who have severe pain

You must follow your doctor's instructions when you use these medicines. Otherwise, you could become dependent on them.

Does stress trigger your symptoms? Learning to reduce stress can help. With less stress, you may find that you have less cramping and pain. Also, you may find it easier to manage your symptoms.

Meditation, exercise, and counseling are some things that might help. You may need to try different activities to see what works best for you.

Points to Remember ...

  • IBS is a functional disorder in which the bowel doesn't work as it should.
  • IBS can cause cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation.
  • IBS doesn't damage the bowel.
  • The doctor will diagnose IBS based on your symptoms. You might have some medical tests to rule out other diseases.
  • Stress doesn't cause IBS, but it can trigger symptoms.
  • Fatty foods, milk products, chocolate, caffeine, carbonated drinks, and alcohol can trigger symptoms.
  • Eating foods with fiber and eating smaller meals can reduce symptoms.
  • Treatment for IBS may include medicine, stress relief, or changes in eating habits.

Piglet ...

Friend JT needed my help in choosing for a soft cushion pillow for his car, and so, we went to this shop in HarbourFront that sells lotsa cutie cutie stuffs.

While choosing for the pillow, I came across this cute little baby piglet, and I kinda fell in love with it at the first sight. I instantly decided that I should grab it to help decorate my empty cubicle in the office. So, tadaa, I got myself a Piglet.

Friend YA in Japan might get jealous once she sees this cute little piglet. But Friend YA, if you are reading this, no worries ... I'll get you one of this if I have the chance to celebrate your birthday with you next year alright? =)

To side track a little. The amount of food that I consumed for today is pretty scary. First, I had Japanese food with some end-users. But I'm the kinda person who doesn't really know how to treasure Japanese food, so, I didn't eat much. Got back to office 3 hours later, and I'm hungry again. So, Colleague CY and Colleague EW accompanied me for my Mee Siam during tea time. Then 2 hours later, it is dinner time with Friend HC and also Friend SP. We had our tom yam steamboat dinner at Coca - Takashimaya. Immediately after that, we went over to Cathay for Ben & Jerry's ice-cream as our dessert for the night. Friend HC and Myself, we had a total of 6 scoops of ice-cream. Can anyone help to calculate on the amount of calories that we have consumed? =)

Now, my tummy felt like it is gonna explode anytime - due to over consumption of food.

I need to learn how to eat moderately...

Model ...

Tuesday, October 31, 2006
Colleague CY bought a new Nokia handphone, with a 2.0 Megapixel camera, and was so excited over his new handphone that he has been going around in the office snapping pictures.

CY is my great partner at work, so, needless to say, I volunteered to be his model since no one refused to do so. And here's a lovely picture (don't puke) taken.

I'm so so so tired today. My right shoulder felt stiff now because I have been lugging my heavy notebook all around with me today. I'm starting to realize the important of having a bottle of Yoko Yoko at home. =)

I'll sign off over here for the day. Need some good rest. Adious ...

Wonderful day ...

I was having this desperate cravings for cheese cake yesterday. Desperate to the extend that I gave the recipe to Friend JT, asking him to learn on how to make the cheese cakes for me.

And guess what? When I stepped into the office today, my lady boss told me that she made some orange cheese cakes and she purposely brought some over for me, knowing that I'm a cheese cake lover. =)

The lovely orange cheese cake made by my lady boss. Well, it definitely doesn't taste as good as the ones from Secret Recipe, but it is the thoughts that made me melt in heart. =)

Below are some pictures taken from Friend IW's wedding dinner a while ago, at Grand Corpthone Hotel @ Havelock Road.

From left : My new found Sarawakian Friend - LT, Friend JO and also Myself.

All the girls in the picture are Friend IW's secondary school mate, except for myself. I don't know all of them well, infact, Friend IW was so afraid that I'll be lonely for the night, but we all seemed to clique when it comes to the normal girly conversations - shopping, dressing, supper, etc. =)

We instantly became good friends, despite knowing each other for less than 12 hours, and we actually went all around the hotel for photo shoots. Hehe...

Myself with the Stars of Tonite, Friend IW with her hubby - TC.

I must have drank quite a lot tonight. Sinus attack again. I'm off to bed for a good night's rest. Goodnite!

The one and only single bride's maid ...

Saturday, October 28, 2006
Today is Friend IW's and TC's big day. As per their request, I have agreed to be their bride's maid. There are 4 bride's maids in total, including myself - but I'm the only one who is still single (the rest are married), so, I have been assigned to do nothing but to specifically help Friend IW manage her long wedding gown. =)

As usual, bride's maids get to play lotsa pranks on the groom and his buddies before allowing them into the bride's house. Unfortunately, we only have time for one game today because the groom and his buddies showed up late. There was an unexpected massive jam along the highway.

The only food that we gave to the groom and his buddies before allowing him in. We slit open the bananas and stuffed it with lots of wasabi. No water provided. There are 10 bananas in total, but only one banana has been stuffed with wasabi and also the house key, with Nescafe as the topping. The groom and his buddies have to choose a banana and eat it, and this process continues until they found the banana with the key to allow them to enter the house.

We (the bride's maids) made some small profits today. We extorted some $$$ and also a free meal @ Prima Tower from the groom. With such bribery, how can we not make life much easier for the groom. =)

We also designed a love contract for Friend IW on behalf of Friend TC. We were supposed to make the groom wear the shirt as shown above, but, some Chinese beliefs do not allow such actions to be carried out. So, the groom sent his representative to wear the shirt on behalf of him.

Myself and Friend IW.

All the bride's maids.

With only 4 hours of sleep last night, I dragged myself out of the bed early morning today. Reached IW's house at 7.30am in the morning, and the entire wedding ceremony ended only at 3.00pm. I am drop dead tired now.

I'm heading to bed now, for a short nap, before I wake up again later for my Line Dancing class. Goodnite!

Happy gal ...

I'm only allocating 10 minutes for myself to update on this blog today.

I'm quite a happy girl today, eventhough I need to wake up early in the morning to have a meeting with an end-user at Harbour Front. Colleague CY, PS, EW and myself, we met up for breakfast an hour earlier before the meeting. The meeting was held at HarbourFront Tower II. The conference room where we had the meeting has this huge glass window, and therefore, I was busy admiring the scenery rather than paying attention to my technical colleagues doing their talking during the presentation. =)

After the meeting, we decided to check out the new Vivo City, which is located just next to HarbourFront. Nothing fantastic over there. I think the articles and reviews all over are all being over-rated.

We passed by the Cable Car restaurant which looks pretty impressive to me, and I spent about 10 minutes bugging my colleagues to agree to having our lunch at the Cable Car restaurant. However, all of them refused to entertain me. So, we ended up having our lunch at the Food Court at Vivo City.

Food Republic - This was where we hanged out for about 1 1/2 hours during lunch hour today. I would say that this food court has a very unique concept and design.

Another clearer view on the inside of the food court. This is the second food court with a traditional design that I've seen so far. The first is Ming Tien, right outside my house @ Taman Sea. =)

We had very heavy McDonald's breakfast, and felt that we couldn't take much for lunch. We end up having coffee and toast. Check out the yellow con-shaped object. Guess what is it? Butter! The waiter will basically sweep the bread on the con-shaped butter before toasting the bread. Impressive, isn't it? No breakfast knife needed. =)

The menu from the Kopitiam.

After that, I proceeded to another end-user meeting with Colleague CY. Colleague PS and EW went on their own separate ways. My meeting ended much earlier than scheduled, and both myself and CY do not feel like going back into the office so early. So, we went out to hunt for some desserts.

The shop where we had our desserts. This shop is specially recommended by Partner TM and so we have decided to give it a try.

I ordered Mango-loh with Grapefruit and Herbal Grass Jelly. Tastes so-so to me. I still prefer the mango-loh from this dessert shop in HK (can't remember the name). One of the best desserts that I've had so far.

This was what we had for our teatime today - Mango-loh and Pumpkin cake.

When I stepped into the office, I saw a lovely gift from my colleague, KW, on my table - a pink Microsoft Optical mouse. My current mouse has gone into retirement, and this new mouse has definitely come to me at the correct timing!

My new mouse. Simply so sweet and lovely! Love it! =)

I over-estimated my typing skills. Instead of 10 minutes, I took a total of 22 minutes. I need to go to bed now. Need to be fresh and energetic for Friend IW's wedding tomorrow. Goodnite!

Dinner down in the drain ...

Thursday, October 26, 2006
I'm still on my diet. I know, this sounds a little weird, especially when it happens on someone who can't resist any food temptation. Somehow, I am very determined to lose weight this time. This is my 2nd week on diet. =)

Knowing that I'm a souperholic who is currently on a stringent diet, Colleague CY took me to this "The Soup Spoon" restaurant for dinner today. We both had a bowl of soup each for dinner. The soup serving is huge (even for the smallest bowl), and trust me, the bowl is as huge as your curry laksa bowl. And the texture of their soup? Remember our Malaysian made "Roti Canai", with the yellow beans DAL gravy? That's the exact texture of their soup.

The texture of the soup, with their giant serving made me felt sick not long after dinner. On my way home, I puked outside Bedok MRT, and my SGD10 worth of chicken and mushroom soup is all down in the drain.

This will be my first and last time patronizing to this restaurant. =(

Invasion ...

It seems that the staircase outside my office (where my colleagues hangout for a fag) has been invaded by some unwelcomed foreigners - Bangladeshis in specific. They were found sleeping at the staircase outside my office.

Only god knows how those unwelcomed foreigners entered the office building. Thank god, I wasn't alone in the office early in the morning. Else, I'll definitely freak out. The funniest thing, the security guard of the building management is not aware of it at all, and he gave us a shocking look when we showed him this picture.

Summary of KL trip ...

Tuesday, October 24, 2006
Just got back from my short KL trip, but it was a lovely one. Needless to say, I fed myself in KL like I suffered from starvation for days. I basically eat about 5 meals a day, at least.

Mum cooked for almost all the meals, because she claimed that outside food not as nutricious as the one that she prepared with lotsa TLCs. We only dine out twice in total. First was to eat my curry wanton noodle at SS2 - Ho Weng Kee, and the second time was to eat my cheese crabs at PJ Seafood Restaurant - Tropicana. =) End result, I think I put on some weight again. Haih ...

Met up with only a few friends in KL - EW, ST, and OW. The rest, no time to see them as I was spending most of the precious time with my family members. Granny has been unhappy lately, over some trivial issues, so, I spent most of my time showering her with TLCs, which explains why I didn't have time to meet up with the rest of my friends. =(

Did splurge quite a fair bit in KL. Got myself a new haircut. But I looked too tired and haggard now, for me to take a picture of myself. I'll upload the picture later, probably tomorrow. The only productive thing that I did - I started on my Chinese New Year shopping already, which is good, because I hate going thru the crowds before the festive season. I prefer doing the shopping in advanced. Probably I did learnt the art of Kiasu-ism from Spore? Hehe... Spent about 2 hours doing my Chinese New Year shopping in Lot 10 and Sg Wang, and the damage ? RM800 gone in just a matter of 120 minutes. I'm really really poor now ...

The end result of my 2 hours shopping spree. In total - I bought 6 pairs of shoes, 7 tops, and 1 dress.

Close up shots of the clothes that I bought. Majority are clothings for work. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any bottoms. I'll hunt for the bottoms in Spore. Afterall, I still have about at least 3 months to Chinese New Year. =)

Close up shots of the shoes that I bought. I already bought a pair in Spore earlier. So, now I have a total of 7 pairs of new shoes for Chinese New Year. Hooray!

Enough of updates. I'm off for my movie marathon now! Tata!

Lazy Friday ...

Saturday, October 21, 2006
I must have overworked last night. I seemed to be super tired and restless since this morning. Eventhough I came back only at about 1.30am last night, I still drag myself out of my comfy bed early morning today because I've got an early meeting to attend to.

Meeting ended 2 hours later, and I'm off for a light lunch. After lunch, I went for a 2-hours classic pedicure, and when I'm done, it is time to meet up with my bunch of good sisters to chill out for the night.

I suggested having our dinner and drinks at Equinox, but they only allow reservations on Friday. So, in the end, we had our romantic candlelight dinner and drinks at Esplanade. Chilling out over there once in a while is ok, but if this is done too regularly will cause a hole in our pocket. Dinner and drinks total up to about SGD100 per pax for the night.

My sisters proceeded to a 2nd round of drinking session, but I didn't join them. Need to get enough of rest because I'll be on a long journey back to KL tomorrow. =)

I'm off for the night. Bye!

P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C

Friday, October 20, 2006

It is 1.32am now, and guess what? I just got back from work. =(

Colleague LT and PC suggested that we go for a drink after office hours, because all of us seemed to be so stressed out, and it is time to de-stress before my boss comes back from Msia. I managed to drag colleague EW along to join us.

Just as we were happily enjoying our drinks, all of us received this sms that gives us a frown on our face - boss messaged us to ask for our funnels report (on his way back from KL to Spore). It took us a while to decide if we should reply to his sms. And being the angels we always are, we replied with a conservative figure. He wasn't happy with the figure, and he called for an online meeting via msn at 11pm sharp.

None of us brought our notebook along with us, and so, we have to head back to office after our drinks to collect our notebook. Since we are already back to the office, we figured out that it would be better for us to MSN with my boss from office (at least we can pakat for some stories with many brains around in the office).

My boss logged in to MSN at 10.45pm, and saw all of us online. After finding out that we are all in the office, he has decided to come back to the office to join us for an actual sales meeting. He reached office only at about 11.30pm. We finished our meeting only at 1.00am in the morning. And I'm home only at about 1.30am.

I think my dark eye circles are getting worse, and I am getting additional wrinkles! I need a break from work! Anyone kind enough to shutter me to JB for a good seafood dinner to help me to destress? =(

What does this picture tells you ???

Thursday, October 19, 2006
I was flipping thru my "Women's Weekly" magazine, and one very interesting advertisement caught my attention.

Her secret recipe to her beautiful skin is .... she swallow? What does she swallow? Hehe... My mind got wild the moment I read this. Has anyone ever wondered what does she swallow to have such a beautiful skin? LOL ...

The bunch of sicko guys who shared one particular dirty joke with me will definitely find this advertisement hilarious. I find it funny myself. =) If you wanna know the answer, message me. I'll share the joke with you. Hehe ...

Relaxing day ...

Today is a pretty relaxing day for me. Woke up quite late, only at about 10.30am, and by 11.45am, I am already at CK Tang having lunch with Partner FL at Crystal Jade Kitchen. Partner FL knew that I'm on my diet, so, she refused to let me eat much as well - she ordered only the chicken soup and also the shanghai dumpling for me. We spent about 3 hours there, doing some rubbish talk. Partner FL's daughter is about my age, but they are not in very good terms. So, whenever I go out with Partner FL, we looked as if we're mother and daughter. =)

After lunch with Partner FL, I went back to office for a short meeting. Met up with Partner MP again after work, at about 7.30pm, at Cornerstone, because tomorrow is his birthday, so, I met up with him to have an advanced birthday celebration with him. Rubbish session with him is always fun, because he has lotsa crappy stories and also real life experiences to share. He tried dropping hints about his interest in me working for him, but the usual me pretended as if I'm unable to catch the hint. =) We crapped till about 11.30pm.

Friend JT picked me up from Cornerstone, and we tried our luck at Tanjong Katong complex to see if I can find my almond strips. And being the lucky girl I always am, Friend JT found my almond strips.

Again, so coincidentally, this is the last jar left. I'm still doubtful on whether "the last jar" is the truth, or it is just a marketing gimmick for the almond strips. The last jar of almond strips that I had, was also the last jar. This time also? Could I be so lucky everytime? =)

Hopefully that this jar of almond strips will be able to last me till Saturday. It can be pretty bored during the entire 4 1/2 journey of bus ride. By listening to music and munching on titbits is the only activities that I can do to kill time. =)

Crystal clear directions ...

Wednesday, October 18, 2006

Had a discussion with my boss on my future directions with my current company effective next year onwards. I need to know everything because I need to get some plannings done at my side as well. Shifting back my existing home in Spore to KL is not gonna be easy for me. Everything is almost firm and we are in the midst of finalizing everything. I'll be back to KL for good in June 07. My new office to be will be at Kelana Jaya, which is only 5 mins drive from my house. My job scope will still be the same, except that now I will be covering not only Msia, but Spore as well. And the stressful part, my quota will now be measured in USD, rather than MYD or SGD. The good news is, now I have a crystal clear direction about my future. =)

I stepped into the office as per normal today. The funny thing is, everyone said I looked damn pale and sick, so, they asked me to go home instead. But, the problem is, I am neither sick, nor feeling sick. This must be the side effects of my diet plan. Today is the 2nd day of my diet plan, and I've been trying to cut down on all my meals. Only one solid meal per day - no deep fried foods and carbo, I'll consume only soupy meals.

Colleague EW has earlier on given me a motivation to go on diet - he'll pay me SGD100 for every kg that I lose. Sounds pretty interesting rite? Seeing that I looked so pale and sick today, he has decided to retract back the motivation that he has given to me earlier. But I insist on continuing, and guess what he did?

We had another new agreement. The previous agreement will be cancelled with immediate effect, and the above is our new agreement. He'll pay me SGD500 if I put on 2kg instead, by end of this month. He can't bear to see me looking sick and pale. So sweet, rite?

So, shall I continue my diet plans now? Or shall I work hard to grow fatter by 2kg? Hehe...

Busy week ahead ...

Monday, October 16, 2006
Today is the start of a new week. Unfortunately, the haze has brought us alot of problems - some are sick and some are not in a good mood. We were all very quiet in the office today because my boss isn't in a good mood. My boss' face is as black as Justice Pao today, for some unknown reason. I managed to cheer him up an hour ago by sharing with him the Indian and the Cobra story, which was told to me by my partner in the afternoon. So, tomorrow should be a brighter day for all of us. =)

I have just only realized that I have so much to do for this week. Every Tuesday is my Aerobics day, and by the time I am done with my Aerobics, I am usually drop dead tired for the day. On Wednesday, I need to go and shop for my sister's 21st birthday present - her Sony Ericsson W810i handphone. On Thursday, I might meet Friend HC to collect his Ipod Nano from him. And after getting the Ipod Nano, most probably I will be spending my whole night copying and adding songs to it. And on Friday, it should be a girls' night outing with my sisters. It has been at least a month since all of us meet up for a chill out session. And I'm going back to KL on Saturday.

Thinking of the schedules that I have arranged for this week already made me feel tired. I am usually free on weekdays after working hours, but not for this week. How I wished that I have gotten everything done much earlier, rather than procrastinating till the very last minute. =(

Wedding invitation ...

Has anyone seen a wedding invitation card, in the form of a photo frame, and packaged in a lovely box, like how mini wedding photo albums are kept? I for sure, have not seen such a unique stuff. Who on earth will wanna spend so much of $$$ on just a wedding invitation card?

Colleague PC received this lovely wedding invitation card, and so, I took a snapshot of it for the purpose of sharing with my fellow blogders (people who reads my blog). =)

Will you waste such a huge amount of money for a wedding invitation as above? No way for me, unless my hubby is a real millionaire! =)

History repeats ...

Just received a heart breaking email from my marketing colleague, which shattered my dream. We will be having an event on the 17th Nov, at Secret Garden.

Initially, I have already planned to have a romantic dinner at Secret Garden with my piggy sister, KP, whose birthday falls on the 16th Nov, because we have both agreed that this year, we will not waste any $$$ buying presents for each other. A quality dinner will be something more practical.

Two years ago, Friend KP and myself, we had a big birthday bash at Newsroom Bar. Well, we weren't the organizer for the birthday bash. It was organized by Friend LL and also Friend JL. In the end, the birthday bash turned into an IT event, with people from all over the IT industry - JK, IM, TP, ECS, IBM, HP, JOSD, etc attending to it. There were about 50++ people who joined us for the birthday celebration. Eventhough it was a grand birthday celebration, but we weren't happy because majority of those attended the party were mainly business partners rather than just friends. The drinking session was even scarier with too many people wanting to get us drunk, and I end up hiding in the toilet.

Looks like history will repeat again 2 years later. This time round, I'll be having a celebration with a bunch of business related partners.

This is crap. Perhaps I should just consider taking leave on that day and return back to KL for some simple yet memorable celebration...

Feeling sick ...

I have an ulcer on my tonsil. And if that sounds bad to you, I also have a very itchy throat that results in a very bad dry cough that I almost cough my lungs out yesterday nite.

If I could, I would just wanna tear open my throat, scratch it directly and apply some medicines to nurse the ulcer on my tonsil. Right now, I'm unable to apply any medicines because my finger is too short to reach the ulcer.

If my predictions are correct, flu should be coming in next. My nose and throat are twins - one fall sick, the other one will follow as well. So now, my throat is down, the next should be my nose.

I'm off to see the doctor now. I need to recover before I return to KL for the Deepavali holidays...

Some points to ponder ...

Saturday, October 14, 2006
I now officially reannounced myself as an online game addict. Eversince I run out of supply for my HK Drama Series, I've gotten myself hooked onto online gaming - mainly the Yahoo Pool and also Literati.

Got to know a guy by the name of Eddie while playing online pool earlier. We played about 80 games, in within 3 - 4 hours. Coincidentally, he is also 25, and he is getting married next year Aug. It is weird how we started chatting from a game of pool, to the topic of relationship, and how he proposed to his wife and how she agrees to it. Quite a simple yet touching love story. They both started dating since high school days, and decided to tie the knot 8 years later. He brought her over to the place whereby he first asked her to be his gf, and that was where he proposed to her, by telling her that she is the one he would wanna gr0w old and spend his life entire life with. And she instantly agreed to it. They are going to have a big wedding party next year, because he wants to tell her that she means all to him, so, he wants to give her his all. So sweet rite?

After listening to Eddie's sweet story, something struck my mind again. Is there such thing as eternity and everlasting love, in this fast pace and modern era now? What are the probabilities of couples getting hooked up, and end up spending the rest of their life together with each other? I've seen lotsa couples getting married, and getting divorced a few years later. In my small little office, there are already a few of such cases. I've also seen many couples who have been together for several years, and asking for a breakup 5 - 7 years later because the realized that the sparks no longer exist in the relationship. I also have friends who are doing the two-timer act at one time. If you think that, that is bad, I also know of many married people who cheated on their spouses when their spouses are not around, and they actually find excitement in doing that. And worse still, some couples are still together not because they loved each other, but to take advantage of the other party. Seeing live scenarios like this made me a relationship-phobic.

So, the question that I have over here today. How many of you actually believe in true and eternity love? Keep your comments pouring in, or buzz me on MSN / ICQ. =)

Angel's gift ...

Friday, October 13, 2006
Just as I was secretly having this weird cravings for chocolates, an angel bought me a box of my favourite Royce champagne chocolates. I have an ulcer at my throat, but this definitely does not deter me from enjoying my yummylicious chocolates. =)

I'll be on strict diet effective from Monday. I need to squeeze myself into the elegant looking night gown for Friend IW's wedding. I need additional moral support!

Love token ...

In order to help Friend RY to quit his addiction towards smoking, I insist that he gave me the pack of ciggarettes that he bought today.

He said that since I have confiscated his pack of ciggarettes, this will be his token of love to me. So cheapo! I am not gonna accept a pack of ciggies as a token of love. I'm still waiting for my Cartier diamond ring ... LOL ...

Blood donation ..

On my way to work today, I saw something weird at the MRT station - I saw black and red balloons hanging all around. This kinda puzzles me because, it is pretty rare to see MRT station being decorated this way.

Out of curiosity, I walked further, and I finally found out why the MRT station is being decorated as it is today. There is a blood donation campaign in the MRT station! There were lots and lots of people, queueing up to participate for the blood donation campaign.

All those who registered for the blood donation campaign looked so enthusiastic, and I didn't wanna miss out the fun.

So, I quickly walked back to the office, and managed to convince 2 lovely colleagues of mine - EW and PS, to join me in for the blood donation campaign. I am a regular donor in KL, but for EW and PS, it is their first time doing so.

Blood donation in KL is pretty simple and straight forward. Not much of form filling is required, other than your personal details. I don't remember filling in declaration form for blood donation in KL, but in Spore, it is a must, to ensure that the donor donates out only clean blood.

They even asked very crappy questions like the above in the questionnaire form. Who would admit having sex with more than one partner? Craps...

Colleague PS having a hard time attending to those crappy questions. He was frowning as he was going thru the list of crappy questions. =)

Each of us is given this "Be Nice to Me" sticker upon the completion of the registration process. During the registration process (online computerized system), the nurse found out that Colleague PS has a record of registering for a blood donation campaign 10 years ago, but he chickened out last minute. Colleague PS was shocked when the nurse started teasing him because he didn't expect that such embarassing records are still being kept after 10 years. Boy, this is hilarious!

The 3 happy donors. It is such a pity that Colleague CY is currently in Thailand doing a POC. Else, he will definitely join in the fun with us. =)

Blood donation time. Colleague PS was busy sms-ing his wife to inform her on the shit (blood donation campaign) that I have gotten him into, and he still could not accept the fact on how I actually got him into joining me for such stupid activities. LOL...

Colleague EW seems pretty relaxed. His seating position is somewhat similar to someone enjoying his sunbathing by the pool.

And me - the saint for the day. I not only did participated for the blood donation campaign, but I managed to get the virgins-to-blood-donations (EW and PS) to participate along as well. Lady boss JT found out about my kind intentions, and she rushed over to the MRT station with Colleague JY just to give us some moral support. So touching rite?

Tadaa, the end result! 450ml of blood, fresh from production. I am so proud of myself!

As a token of appreciation for our blood, each of us were given one of this cute pumpkin squeezeball. One of the officers found me lovely, as I was busy snapping pictures, and he gave me an additional pumpkin squeeze ball. I gave it to my lovely boss - SC.

A "Thank You" card and also a pack of iron tablets, to help us to replenish back on the big pack of blood that we have donated.

Since I have donated so much of blood during the daytime, I should pamper myself with some good food at night. Friend RY has offered to buy me dinner, so, the picture above with his face is to show my token of appreciation towards him, for his free dinner. =)

I need more rest tonight, due to the excessive blood lost. Goodnight!

Voodoo doll ...

Wednesday, October 11, 2006
I seemed to have lotsa gifts from lotsa people recently. Friend "WWK the Terrible" went to Japan for a holiday, and he bought me this cute little souvenir.

However, I have not collected this voodoo doll yet. Since I have a present to be redeemed from WWK, I should be meeting up with him end of this month.

It has been years since we last met, and if I didn't remember wrongly, the last time I met WWK was during our college days - I forced him to spend a night over at my place to get my assignment done for me... LOL ... Those were the sweet old days.

Time for some catching up, really soon. WWK the Terrible, please make sure that my voodoo doll is still in one piece when I redeem it from you. =)

Food ...

Something is very wrong with me. I usually get very excited when I see interesting foods or desserts, but nowadays, foods or desserts don't seem to excite me anymore.

Friend HC felt that I have lost my appetite due to the work stress that I have, so, he suggested going for buffet lunch this coming Saturday because this might help to trigger my appetite again. But me got no appetite leh. Maybe Coca steamboat, I can still consider. =)

The type of food for someone who is appetite-less for dinner. Initially, I wanted to go grab the Cheese Fries from Long John Silvers, but then again, too far. I lazy to walk, so, this Choco-Vanilla cookie will be my dinner instead.

Bride's maid again ...

I have just only received an invitation from Friend IW, requesting for me to be her bride's maid on her big day - 28th October 06, and to be her receptionist on her wedding dinner day - 30th October 06. I have been tasked by Friend IW to really torture her hubby and his buddies to the max.

Can't really keep track on the number of times I've become a bride's maid, but one thing for sure - I have been a bride's maid for at least 5 times. There is this Chinese myth that says, if a girl becomes a bride's maid for more than 3 times, she will be left on the shelf forever. Colleague EW claimed that there are some truths behind this myth, and he has advised me to reject this invitation...

But but but ... accepted already, how to reject? Pening kepala man ...

About me ...

My Photo
Name: Soo Chin
Location: Singapore

My inner self --> A simple minded person, who is pretty much contented with the things I consider important in my life for now - a caring and supportive family, a steady career and a bunch of good friends who love me for who I am. Some people felt that they can read me like an open book. But in actual fact, my inner world is a private one. Only the fortunate ones who earned my trust gain entrance into this realm.

My outer self --> A cheerful, friendly, outgoing and talkative girl who talks about anything and everything under the sun and is highly skilled in making new friends. Now you guys know why I've been in the sales line since the day that I graduated ? =)
